The
Council has a programme of property disposals
to support it's Asset Management Plan, Capital
Strategy, Housing Strategy and Regeneration
Strategy. Under the Asset Management lan,
surplus property assets are carefully considered
for re-use by other Council departments
or Partner (public or semi-public) Organisations,
before they are disposed off. A significant
number of buildings and sites which are
suitable for Housing Development are transferred
to Housing Associations.
Occasionally, properties are marketed either
by tender or auction, with agents acting
on behalf of the Council. Details of these

and in the press. The Council is under an
obligation to obtain best conPsideration
from disposals and the method of disposal
in the light of the Council's various strategies
and objectives.
